Human Resources Assistant (Worcester) – CLA

Community Legal Aid (CLA) is the non-profit legal services program providing free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of central and western Massachusetts. CLA has over 100 dedicated, talented staff working across multiple offices, and a budget of over $12 million.

CLA seeks a talented individual to join our team as an entry level HR Assistant. This position will be heavily involved in the recruitment process, including posting jobs on various job boards, reviewing and organizing resumes, coordinating participation at career fairs, networking with law schools to build relationships, and coordinating internships. Other duties will include providing day-to-day HR support to the Director of HR in a variety of areas, including assisting with the planning and implementation of employee wellness and DEI initiatives, assisting with the onboarding and orientation process for staff, entering records into the HR/Payroll System, personnel record retention and filing, and other HR tasks.

Full-time (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) or part-time options available.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior HR admin experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Patient and flexible, organized, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to establish effective working relationships.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector a plus.
