Legal Aid Case Manager – Central West Justice Center

Central West Justice Center (CWJC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Community Legal Aid, provides high-quality free legal assistance in civil matters to low-income and elderly individuals and families throughout Central and Western Massachusetts.

CWJC seeks a case manager to assist clients with issues related to accessing immigration relief, housing stability, and financial security. The case manager will be based in CWJC’s Worcester office and will help connect clients with services and programs in order to maintain and increase their stability and security. The case manager will help clients apply and/or recertify for relevant assistance programs; gather the documents necessary and keep the appointments required for their cases; and identify appropriate non-legal community resources that can help address clients’ unmet needs. The case manager will work closely with CWJC’s immigration, benefits, and housing team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College graduate.
  • Fluency in Spanish required.
  • Demonstrated concern for and commitment to the goals of legal aid and to working for low-income people, and ability to relate to and establish productive working relationships with community groups, individuals, and human service agencies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to multi-task, operate independently and problem-solve in real time.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is $47,490, which is based on a union scale and adjusted upward depending on experience. CWJC offers a very generous benefits package that includes 401(k) with employer-paid contribution; low-cost health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) for employees and their dependents; paid leave (4 weeks vacation, 3 personal days, 12 sick days, and 13 holidays); and relocation stipend.
