South Coastal Counties Legal Services (SCCLS), a non-profit civil legal aid program, with offices in Fall River, Hyannis, and New Bedford seeks to hire full time staff attorneys, admitted to practice or eligible for admission in Massachusetts, to provide legal representation in a wide variety of civil legal matters to victims of crime, including victims of sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking, or elder abuse. The attorneys will work in the areas of employment, family, and/or education, and as otherwise directed by the managing attorney. Staff attorneys must work competently in SCCLS’ case management system; assist with the timely preparation of grant reports; and engage in outreach and community education. The attorneys will manage a substantial caseload of individual cases, along with special projects, and engage in impact advocacy. Experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred. Fluency in a second language such as Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, or Haitian Creole also preferred. The positions will be open until filled.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
(Bi-Lingual Increment in Addition to Salary: Up to $1,500 Annually)
